Apart from many smaller scale producers, who mainly sell in the local markets, two exporters stand out: Mohammad Abu Sido Farms and Raed Al Hamshari Trading Comapny. Both companies manage the entire chain from production to exports.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Although facing stiff competition, Jordan´s Mini Cucumbers are one of the major items exported to Europe and remain in high demand. Mohammad Abu Sido states:

“We have been producing cucumbers since our establishment in 1968. We introduced new species like pickling cucumber and slicing cucumbers to Russia. We make sure we always stay up to date with our technologies. We use the best water and pesticides; we also abide by the international laws when it comes to pesticide residues. We export large quantities of cucumbers are through traders to various GCC countries, Western Europe and the Middle East in general”.
