This project is implemented by MIRRA:

MIRRA is a Jordanian non-governmental organisation created in September 2007. It aims to support the development of the agricultural sector in Jordan and in its neighbouring countries (Palestinian Territories, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria) by being an operator on development projects and by performing consultative missions in the domains of agriculture and irrigation.

  • Support and evaluate the design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation technologies on farms through WIT-supported activities.

  • Field-based experiential training to six graduated agricultural engineers who are interested in becoming irrigation experts.

This is closed project. The program duration was one year.

Project Details

Provision of farm-level irrigation system quality assurance for WIT by working closely with suppliers to evaluate system design, installation, and maintenance on all farms directly or indirectly supported by WIT, ensuring that they are completed to a high standard and the suppliers have the ability to provide this quality assurance in the future; and  completion of field-based training of recently graduated agricultural engineers so they can have in-depth knowledge of irrigation system optimisation and best practices.
